Rep. Hoyer Leads Congress in Militarizing American Police Forces
Steny Hoyer is the nation's top advocate for arming police with weapons of war. There's just too much money to be made by Steny's deep-pocketed financial backers.
Four years ago, Rep. Alan Grayson (D-FL) offered up an amendment to the Defense Appropriations bill which would have limited the militarization of the nation's police. Grayson was alarmed by the use of the most deadly
weapons of war on America's streets, but Steny Hoyer, the Democratic Whip, leaned heavily on Democrats in the House to vote against it. Read the list of weapons Hoyer is OK with that are listed in Grayson's amendment.
Here's the amendment:
"None of the funds made available by this Act may be used to transfer aircraft (including unmanned aerial vehicles), armored vehicles, grenade launchers, silencers, toxicological agents (including chemical agents, biological agents, and associated equipment), launch vehicles, guided missiles, ballistic missiles, rockets, torpedoes, bombs, mines, or nuclear weapons"
Nicole's guest. Howie Klein unloads on Rep. Hoyer for being the second-top Democrat in money received from the military industrial complex and his leadership role in pushing for extreme militarization of local police.

"Who is it that got the Democrats to vote against it? .. It was Hoyer. In Congress, there are very few who have received more than a million dollars directly from arms manufacturers.. When Steny Hoyer goes and speaks at an event no one goes except lobbyists. No one wants to see Steny Hoyer. Nobody cares about these hack politicians. Maybe in their own districts a few people.. but not many. When Elizabeth Warren goes anywhere in the country huge crowds show up."
